Twin Lakes - Balinsasayao & Danao

One of the major tourist attractions that the island of Negros Oriental is proud of is the captivating Twin Lakes located 12 km from the city proper. As the name itself, the lakes namely Lake Danao and Lake Balinsasayao are two small but very deep craters of freshwater rising 1000 feet above sea level. The lakes are separated by a narrow mountain ridge.

The peculiarity of the two lakes is not the only thing that captivates the tourists. The lake is a protected Natural Park as it is home to  various rare species of fish, birds, and plants that can only be found lurking by or in the lake.

How to Get to the Twin Lakes

Option A
Take a pedicab (tricycle) and ask to be taken to the multicab terminal going or passing by San Jose. You can find the multicab terminal for San Jose by the corner of Quezon parking front of McDonald. These multicabs also have another terminal for San Jose which is located in Real Street, beside Caltex. The fare for San Jose is 15 PHP per person.

Inform the jeep/bus driver to drop you off the junction going to the Balinsasayao Twin Lakes. The junction is located over Sibulan proper but before you reach San Jose proper, you can see the signage for the Twin Likes just by the highway. Your trip to this drop off point would take approximately 30 minutes.

From that junction, next would be a long uphill road. Hire a motorbike (habal-habal) to take you to the lakes. You can also arrange it with them for your return. The habal habal would cost P150 per head for one way.

After getting to the entrance point of the lakes you need to pay the entrance fee which is P10 for the locals and P50 for foreigners.
Option B
Rent a motorbike (fronting Qyosko Restaurant, two blocks from Tourism Office) which is P250 per day. Please understand these prices may change.
