The City of Dumaguete has been featured recently in ABC News, Yahoo Finance, US News and World & World Report, and ABS-CBN News as one of the most beautiful and cheapest place to retire on the planet. It has the best of all Negros has to offer including coastal areas that feature amazing beaches and diving spots. The inner area of the municipality is covered with agriculture while the mountain area is filled with local fruit plantations which harvests are the basis of the economy for the local residents.

A small gulf that expands about 15 hectares makes up this beautiful haven which is a sanctuary for motorboats and yachts that take shelter in the Bonbon Lagoon. Many expats and foreign retirees stay here with their families. The very first thing you will notice when you reach the area are the large white masts of the sailboats docked just off the beach.

It also has a fare share of the most beautiful sunsets in the province. If you are thirsty for  serenity and a peaceful place to relax Bonbon Point and Lagoon may just be what you are looking for.
